Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Hamas military wing Al-Qassam Brigades announced on Wednesday it had taken over Israeli drone, rebuilt and made it operational.
In a statement, Al-Qassam Brigades said it had captured the Israeli Skylark 1 drone on July 22, 2015.
“Security checks were conducted, and the systems and technologies installed in the drone were examined, and then the unit rebuilt it and put the drone in use to serve Al-Qassam purposes,” the statement said.
Al-Qassam posted a video for the drone on its official websites and said: “The enemy must know that we will surprise it every day with a new achievement it would not expect.”
It added: “A group of young and creative minds of its members are responsible for this qualitative achievement. This achievement is dedicated to Palestinian youth.”
During last year’s Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death of more than 2,260 Palestinians and wounded around 11,000, Al-Qassam surprised the Israelis, as well as the Palestinians, of manufacturing its own drones and put them in used during the war.
