Days of Palestine, Gaza Strip –Palestinian ministry of health warned on Wednesday that work in Gaza hospitals is to stop in days because of severe fuel shortage.
The ministry said that the problem started at the beginning of this month and it has been aggravated massively in the recent days.
Spokesman of the Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Qidra said that the Gaza healthcare facilities consume more than 20,000 litre of fuel everyday.
“Amounts in the ministry stocks are not enough for more than two days,” he said, “and efforts had been exerted for days broke down.”
Gaza healthcare facilities suffer consume huge amount of fuel for the electricity generators because of the Israeli severe cuts of electricity, along with the Israeli restrictions on the reparation of the Gaza electricity plant after it was targeted by the Israeli occupation in 2006.
Currently, Gazans have electricity eight hours every day.
