Days of Palestine, West Ban –Israeli occupation forces arrested on Sunday at dawn seven Palestinian citizens in occupied West Bank, arrested 85,000 since 2000.

Sources told Days of Palestine that a large number of Israeli troops invaded the neighbourhood of Azzoon in Qalqilia, north of the West Bank, and arrested a citizen from his home.

Another citizen was arrested from home in the city of Bethlehem and two others, the sources said, were arrested from the neighbourhood of Husan in the west of Bethlehem.

Meanwhile, eye witnesses said that the Israeli occupation invaded Al-Khalil Governorate and arrested two Palestinian citizens from their homes after inspecting their homes and damaging much of their properties.

In the neighbourhood of Bani Na’im to the east of Al-Khalil, the Israeli forces, the witnesses said, kidnapped a Palestinian citizen while he was heading to his work.

The Israel TV said that the Israeli occupation troops arrested on Sunday four Palestinian involved in hostile activities against the state of ‘Israel.’ The TV referred to the arrests took place at dawn in the occupied West Bank.

85,000 prisoners since 2000

The Palestinian Committee for Prisoners and Freed Prisoners (former ministry of prisoners) said that the Israeli occupation arrested 85,000 Palestinians since September 28, 2000.

Around 2,500 of them were arrested only since June 12, when three Israeli settlers went missing in the occupied West Bank and then found dead.

Head of Statistics Department in the Committee Abdul-Naser Ferwaneh said that 10,000 children and 1,000 women were among those arrested.

Ferwaneh said that 250 of the children and 19 women are still inside Israeli jails. Four of the women, Ferwaneh said, gave birth inside the jails while handcuffed and legchained.

At the same time, the Israeli occupation arrested 65 Palestinian ministers and MPs. Most of them were put under administrative detention for at least one time.

According to Ferwaneh, who is a former prisoner, two ministers and 30 MPs are still in jails.

He said that the Israeli occupation rearrested 73 Palestinian prisoners released in prisoners’ swaps. Most of them were released in the 2011 prisoners’ swap signed with Hamas.

In addition, Ferwaneh said that hundreds of the prisoners inside the Israeli jails suffer critical health conditions, as well as they receive bad health treatment.
