Wounded in Israeli violent dispersal of Pal protests

Days of Palestine -

Days of Palestine, West Bank –Hundreds of Palestinians across the occupied West Bank on Friday took to the streets protesting against Israeli appropriation of their lands.

The weekly marches protesting the Israeli occupation and land confiscation and condemning international silence towards the Palestinian cause set off after Friday prayer.

Israeli occupation forces violently dispersed a march in the village of Al-Nabi Saleh near Ramallah. Dozens of Palestinians were reported hit by rubber-coated steel bullets and suffocated by tear gas grenades launched at them.

Witnesses said that the Israeli soldiers used live ammunition to suppress the march as protesters approached the entrance of the village.

The village is a site of weekly protests against the Israeli occupation, with residents demanding that lands confiscated by Israeli forces to build a settlement be returned to them.

Bil’in and Ma’sarah

At a protest in Bilin, a village near Ramallah, a Palestinian was injured and dozens suffered from tear gas inhalation. Two international activists were detained.

Ashraf abu-Rahma was injured in his leg as he was chased by the Israeli forces, while an Israeli and British activist were detained.

Israeli forces fired rubber-coated steel bullets, stun grenades and tear gas at protesters as they neared Israeli apartheid wall.

The protest also marked the 30 anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre.

In the village of Al-Ma’sarah, near Bethlehem, Israeli forces blocked a weekly march.

Dozens of Palestinian and international activists marched in the village to protest against the Israeli confiscation of Palestinian lands in the area, but were forcibly stopped by Israeli soldiers.

Israeli forces positioned on rooftops and at the entrance of Al-Ma’sara and prevented demonstrators from reaching confiscated village lands to continue their march.

Since 2006, the Al-Ma’sarah residents have been organising weekly protests, demanding the Israeli authorities return village lands confiscated in order to build the Israeli apartheid wall.
