Speaking in a press conference while wandering the strip to look closely at the size of the destruction left by the 51-day Israeli war, he said that he hailed the “persistence of Gazans.”
“I am admired with the persistence of the people of Gaza,” he said, “As well as there is an urgent need for supporting them.”
Murray added: “There is an urgent need to allow entrance of construction materials. There will not be reconstruction if the situation remains unchanged.” He referred to the continuous Israeli closure for the Gaza crossings.
