Days of Palestine, Doha –Qatar hailed on Wednesday the ceasefire deal that ended 51 days of Israeli savage attacks on the Gaza Strip.
“The deal was reached firstly because of the resistance of the Palestinian fighters, as well as the sacrifices of the people of the Gaza Strip,” Qatari official said.
Qatar has been supportive to the Palestinian position during the “disproportionate” war that claimed the lives of around 2,200 Palestinians and wounded around 11,000 others.
The Gulf State, which is home to Al-Jazeera TV, announced it is “ready to contribute to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip as soon as possible.”
When he announced the ceasefire, the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas thanked Qatar for its role in reaching the deal.
Tunis also paid efforts towards ending the war.
