Days of Palestine, Gaza –Hamas said on Thursday that Israeli “wordplay” undermined reaching ceasefire deal during indirect Palestinian-Israeli talks in Cairo.
Senior Hamas leader and member of the Palestinian delegation in Cairo Khalil al-Hayyah said: “The Egyptian broker exerted much effort to bring views closer. We could discuss all points, but Israeli wordplay undermined reaching a deal that meets our people’s hopes.”
Al-Hayyah, who told a press conference in Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, said: “We will conduct deeper discussions with the Palestinian factions and the Palestinian Authority in order to be able to put stronger pressure on the occupation.”
He continued speaking about sticking to the Palestinian demands. “Our message is that we are united on the Palestinian demand,” he said, “we are united in blood, resistance and politics for the defence of our people.” Al-Hayyah lost his house, son and grandsons in this war.
In addition, he said that this war was imposed on the Palestinians, “but the resistance did its best to defend the Palestinians and their properties.

Al-Hayya stressed that the main four demands of the Palestinians “must be” met. The demands are: ending the siege forever, Israeli commitment to lift its hands from Palestinian land and water, building a seaport and airport, as well as reconstructing the Strip.
The Palestinian delegation left Cairo today morning in order to conduct wide discussions with the Palestinian factions and the Palestinian Authority.
