Days of Palestine, Gaza –After 29 days of heavy Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip, Palestinians found themselves on brink of a disaster because of huge losses.
In a quick look at the volume of destruction left by the Israeli occupation in the properties and infrastructure in the Strip, you will became very well aware of the size of the disaster the Gazans are enduring.
Based on official bodies, the Israeli occupation killed more than 1,875 Palestinians, including 426 children and 255 women. It also wounded 9,893 others, more than half of them are children and women.
The occupation also destroyed more that 25 percent of the basic infrastructure along the whole Strip. It destroyed 85 percent of the telecommunication network and more than 60 percent of the water and sewage pipes, as well as around 65 percent of electricity grids.
Regarding personal properties, the occupation destroyed 10,606 homes. Around 1,724 homes were completely destroyed and the others were partially affected. Many of them need much repare work before they became appropriate for life.
As part of the war on religion, the occupation attacked 132 mosques. Among them, 42 were completely destroyed, including very old mosques with some of them are more than a 1,000 year old.
The occupation also targeted education facilities. It attacked six universities, including the Islamic University, which is leading among in the Arab world. It destroyed 188 schools.
About economic facilities, the occupation destroyed 19 banks and exchange office, 315 factories, 52 fishing boats and 27 other public services facilities.
