Days of Palestine, Gaza –Israeli occupation broke truce, killed 70 Palestinians civilian, wounded 350 others to search for missing solider.
Palestinians saw with the truce a window of hope in order to collect whatever remained valid from the rubble of their houses, as well as they wanted to pick up some vegetables from their farms. So, they rushed in large numbers to border areas.
Just two hours on the truce, the Palestinians were surprised with the Israeli occupation starting tank shelling at them in Rafah, killing at least 70 civilians and wounded more than 350 others.
Commenting on the massacre, the Israeli occupation said that two of its soldiers were killed and a third one went missing. The occupation accused Hamas military wing of kidnapping him, and so, it ended the truce.
The Israeli occupation said that it put the Palestinians under heavy fire in order to undermine moving the missing soldiers to other parts of the Gaza Strip.
Later on, the Palestinians fighters denied they had violated the truce and kidnapped an Israeli soldier. They said that two hours before the truce, Israeli military unit moved 2km inside Palestinian areas and fell in an ambush for Qassam Brigades’ fighters.
According to Qassam statement, a shootout was erupted followed by loss of contact with the ambush group, which was expected it kidnapped the soldier. Qassam expected that its fighters along with the Israeli soldier, if he was kidnapped, were all killed by the heavy Israeli shelling.
