Israeli occupation forces today, Saturday evening, executed a Palestinian youth for allegedly carrying out a stabbing attack that seriously wounded a settler in Bab al-Amud area in the occupied Jerusalem.
Video footages published by activists showed the moment the Israeli occupation forces brutally shot an unarmed young man, then attacked and pursued citizens in the place.
According to local sources, the young man carried out a stabbing attack, during which he wounded a settler, and the Israeli occupation forces shot him without posing a threat to it, and prevented medical personnel from approaching him to provide first aid.
Sound bombs were also fired in the area to disperse the Jerusalemites, while clashes erupted in Bab Al-Sahira, during which the occupation soldiers beat the Palestinian civilians.
Meanwhile, the Hamas movement’s spokesman for the city of Jerusalem, Muhammad Hamadeh, said that the Israeli execution for the young man is deliberate brutality.
Hamadeh added, in a press statement that this criminal behavior that warrants condemnation, describing it as the pinnacle of terrorism, and the Palestinians have the right to defend themselves and resist the occupation.
He stressed that the Israeli occupation does not observe any laws, and does not preserve any human dignity.
In this context, the Israeli occupation forces closed this evening, Saturday, the doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque for several hours, amid the outbreak of confrontations in its surroundings, which resulted in injuries among Palestinians.
Jerusalem sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces closed the doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque, where the worshipers performed the Maghrib prayer in the squares close to its doors.
Later, the Israeli occupation forces opened the Al-Asbat and Al-Silsila gates for worshipers to leave only and prevented entry to the Blessed Mosque, before reopening the doors at the time of evening prayer and allowing entry and exit.
The sources pointed out that the Israeli occupation forces closed the gates of the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque, after the stabbing operation.
The Israeli occupation mobilized its forces in Bab al-Amud, and pursued the Jerusalemites in an attempt to empty the area after the operation.
The Israeli occupation forces also fired massively sound bombs at Jerusalemites in the vicinity of Bab al-Amoud, Sultan Suleiman Street, and Bab al-Sahira, which led to many casualties.
Israeli occupation forces arrested a young man from Bab al-Amoud area, without knowing his identity, and assaulted another young man with batons.
They also attacked a group of girls in the Bab Hatta area, and prevented them from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Al-Amal Association for Health Services reported that it dealt with 40 injuries with rubber-coated metal bullets and panic as a result of the pursuit of the occupation forces of Jerusalemites in Bab al-Amud.
