On Thursday evening, a sewage pipe exploded in Al-Rasheeh Street, west of the Gaza City, according to the public relations official in the Gaza Municipality, Hussien Odeh.
Odeh explained that the explosion of the line led to an overflow of sewage in the area.
He indicated that preliminary estimates indicate that the explosion was caused by cracks in the line due to the violent Israeli bombardment of the area and its surroundings during the last Israeli aggression last May.
Odeh stressed that the municipality’s crews are doing their best to address the problem, according to the available capabilities, to control the situation and ensure that matters do not escalate.
Odeh renewed the municipality’s call for the urgent need to rebuild and repair the infrastructure damage resulting from the recent Israeli aggression, stressing that the immediate start would avoid any problems that might result from the approach of winter.
