The Israeli occupation authority declared Sunday that it will call for tenders for the construction of 1,355 new settlement units in the West Bank.
Israeli media sources had earlier revealed a new plan for the construction of more than 3,000 settlement units in the West Bank’s Area C.
The plan is scheduled to be approved next Wednesday.
It will be the first time settlement units are approved during the US president Joe Biden’s administration and the current Israeli government.
Israeli media have also reported that the Israeli Construction and Housing Minister Zeev Elkin is set to press ahead with a plan to double the number of Jewish settlers in the Jordan Valley.

“Strengthening and expanding Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) is a necessary and very important thing in the vision of the Zionist enterprise,” the Israeli minister said in a statement on the Walla News website.
“After a long period of stagnation in construction in Judea and Samaria, I welcome the marketing of over 1,000 housing units. I will continue to maintain Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria,” he added.
The West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is regarded as “occupied territory” under international law, making all Jewish settlements illegal.
