Netanyahu Vows to Close Gaza Crossings, Stop Entry of Fuel and Supplies
M.S | DOP -

The Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced Friday, May 12, 2023, the closure of the Gaza crossings and the prevention of the entry of supplies to the city, Israeli media sources said.

“We will not allow the Erez and Kerem Shalom crossings to be opened to bring fuel or any other supplies into the Strip,” Netanyahu said.

Yesterday, Thursday, the Palestinian Energy and Natural Resources Authority in the Gaza Strip stated that the current situation in Gaza portends a humanitarian crisis due to the Israeli blockade and the closure of crossings under the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip.

It warned against the Israeli occupation stopping allowing the entry of fuel needed to operate the power plant in Gaza.

The Energy Authority indicated that the only power plant in the Gaza Strip does not produce the required energy due to the blockade imposed on the Strip 16 years ago.

It is now suffering from a shortage of available quantities of fuel, which will lead the humanitarian situation to deteriorate as a result of the station’s shutdown.

The Energy Authority indicated that the fuel supply to Gaza has been completely stopped since last Tuesday, May 9, as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the total closure of the crossings. Thus, the fuel stock is about to run out.
