DaysofPal — Analysts say Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is leveraging repeated violations of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza as a strategy to maintain his political position, despite mounting criticism over the outcomes of the Israeli genocidal war.

The ceasefire, announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, came into effect on October 10, 2025, partially halting the Israeli genocidal war that began on October 7, 2023.

However, the agreement has been repeatedly breached, with official figures reporting more than 2,000 violations.

These Israeli violations have resulted in at least 677 deaths and over 1,800 injuries.

According to reports, Israeli military violations since the ceasefire have included airstrikes, demolition operations beyond the so-called yellow line, and tightened control over border crossings, restricting the entry of humanitarian aid. Additional allegations point to abductions and targeted killings carried out by groups believed to be collaborating with Israeli intelligence.

Political analyst Adel Yassin said the violations reflect “a continuous aggressive mindset within Israeli far-right government,” arguing that such actions serve both political and military objectives.

He suggested that the government is attempting to rally support from its right-wing base by projecting that the war in Gaza is ongoing, while also advancing plans that could alter the territory’s demographic reality.

Yassin added that, militarily, continued Israeli violations aim to weaken deterrence in Gaza and achieve goals that were not accomplished during the war, including dismantling resistance factions and disarming them.

“The government set unrealistic objectives,” he said, noting that warnings had been issued about the difficulty of achieving a decisive victory in Gaza.

The situation also reflects internal political pressures on Netanyahu, who faces growing calls for early elections to the Knesset. Yassin argued that escalating tensions may be a deliberate attempt to strengthen his chances of remaining in power.

Meanwhile, analyst Dr. Adel Samara said Israel is taking advantage of global distractions, particularly tensions involving Iran, to intensify its actions in Gaza.

He noted that the current approach involves calculated violations that avoid triggering the level of international outrage seen during the peak of the conflict.

Samara also highlighted attacks on leadership figures and police personnel in Gaza, suggesting these are aimed at preventing the reconstruction of local governance and social structures.

Both analysts warned that the implications of the ongoing Israeli escalation extend beyond Gaza, potentially affecting the West Bank, Jerusalem, and even neighboring Lebanon.

They concluded that the continued violations indicate that the Israeli occupation remains committed to its broader wartime objectives, including reshaping conditions in Gaza in line with its strategic interests.
