DaysofPal- Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has warned that unsubstantiated allegations by Israeli authorities are endangering humanitarian workers, as the organization awaits renewal of its authorization to operate in Gaza and the West Bank under newly imposed Israeli conditions.
In a statement issued on Thursday, MSF said the revised registration requirements introduced by the Israeli occupation lack transparency and clear criteria.
The organization rejected Israeli claims alleging links between MSF staff and armed groups, describing the accusations as unfounded and a serious threat to the safety of humanitarian personnel.
MSF said the Israeli suspension of the activities of 25 international humanitarian organizations, including MSF, risks depriving thousands of patients in Gaza of essential medical care. The measures, which took effect at the start of the new year, could leave large numbers of Palestinians without access to basic primary healthcare services, the organization warned.
According to MSF, Israeli occupation has halted the operations of the affected organizations because they failed to comply with new registration procedures.
Israeli officials say the groups did not meet requirements to provide detailed information about their staff, funding sources and operational areas.
MSF, however, said these justifications reflect broader efforts to politicize humanitarian assistance and use it as a means of pressure and control.
The organization added that the Israeli occupation has made allegations, described by MSF as baseless, accusing some of its employees of having ties to resistance groups.
The medical charity strongly denied the claims, stressing that they are unsupported by evidence.
It said that targeting healthcare services and humanitarian workers constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law.
The warning comes as Gaza continues to face a severe humanitarian and health crisis, with international organizations repeatedly cautioning that restrictions on aid operations are worsening civilian suffering and undermining access to life-saving medical care.
