Palestinian ministries of Health and National Economy warned Palestinian citizens against buying or consuming chickpeas and tahini products of the Israeli company Osem after it was suspected of being contaminated with salmonella.
In a statement earlier on Wednesday, the Ministry of National Economy said that its staff is working to withdraw the products from the market to subject them to laboratory examinations, calling on merchants not to market them to preserve the safety of consumers.
In addition, the ministry called on the Palestinian people to use high-quality national products that are subject to periodic checks and meet health standards.
