DayofPal– The Ministry of Health has urgently appealed to the international community to facilitate the delivery of vital aid, medicine, and food supplies to Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza Strip, on Saturday.
In a press release issued today, the Ministry stated that Israeli gunfire surrounds the hospital and continues around the clock with Israeli shells have struck the third floor and the hospital’s entrance, spreading panic among patients and medical staff.
The Ministry emphasized the hospital’s dire need for essential maintenance supplies to sustain electricity, water, and oxygen, while also grappling with severe shortages of medicine, food, and painkillers.
The Ministry warned that patients in Kamal Adwan Hospital, along with other healthcare centers and hospitals across Gaza, are facing imminent death – whether from Israeli gunfire or the lack of critical medicine and treatments.
The statement further highlighted Israel’s blatant violations of international law and humanitarian law by targeting medical and health facilities and obstructing efforts to rescue and support those inside.
Doctor Hussam Abu Safiya, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, also issued a stark warning that the hospital is at the brink of collapse under a relentless cycle of gunfire and lack of medical supplies.
“We face crippling deficits of painkillers, surgical tools, and basic medications. Even food is a rarity—we can’t provide meals for the injured, let alone our exhausted medical teams working tirelessly around the clock,” he uncovered.
He added that the World Health Organization had managed to send just 70 blood units for patients, far short of the 200 the hospital urgently require.
“Sniper fire crackles nearby, and the hospital walls bear the signs of countless bullets and shells. This small, humble sanctuary for the suffering now feels more like a battlefield than a haven,” he concluded.
