A member of the European Parliament and a member of the European Left Party, Marc Potanga, criticized the hypocritical policy of the European Union towards the Palestinian cause, calling for the suspension of the Association Agreement with the Israeli occupation.
In his speech to the European Parliament on December 22, Potanga denounced the Israeli occupation policy targeting Palestinian children.
He said that the 16-year-old Palestinian girl, Jana Zakarneh, was on the roof of her house when an Israeli soldier killed her with two bullets in the face, one in the neck, and one in the shoulder.
Potenga added that the Israeli occupation killed dozens of Palestinian children in 2022, in addition to destroying Palestinian homes and schools and stealing their occupied lands.
Commenting on that, he said, “What does the European Union do about that? Nothing except worse. It strengthens the relationship with ‘Israel’ You talk about human rights. At the same time, you allow Israel to kill with impunity. This is abominable hypocrisy.”
