DaysofPal- The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported on Monday that the death toll from the Israeli aggression in Lebanon since 2 March has risen to 886, including children and women, with thousands more injured.
The ministry’s daily report states that 67 women and 111 children have been killed, and there are now 2,141 injured. Casualties among healthcare workers have also risen, totaling 38 killed and 69 injured since the escalation began.
Israeli airstrikes on Monday alone killed 36 people and injured another 36 across different regions of the country. The previous day, the ministry had reported 850 deaths, including 107 children and 66 women.
Israel announced the launch of a new ground operation in southern Lebanon, with its forces reportedly advancing seven to nine kilometers into Lebanese territory. The Israeli army confirmed on Tuesday morning that it had expanded its ground operations in southern Lebanon, with the 36th Division joining the 91st Division in what it describes as a military campaign against Hezbollah.
The outskirts of Beirut faced a series of heavy airstrikes at dawn on Tuesday. The National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes targeted the Kafaat and Haret Hreik neighborhoods.
Additionally, a missile struck a residential apartment in the upper floors of a building in Doha Aramoun. Artillery shelling also battered southern border towns during the early morning hours, resulting in the injury of an Ethiopian woman.
Southern towns also came under artillery fire during the early morning hours. The ministry reported that a woman of Ethiopian nationality was injured in the strikes.
Israeli warplanes continue to target multiple areas in Lebanon, particularly southern Lebanon, eastern regions, and the southern suburbs of Beirut. The Israeli army has issued orders to advance further into southern Lebanon to expand its border control.
