DaysofPal—Even after the formal ceasefire aimed at halting the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza, Israeli forces have continued targeting civilians, with 1,116 documented violations over the past 85 days, resulting in 430 deaths, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.
Dr. Ismail Thawabta, Director-General of the office, stated that the Israeli violations demonstrate a blatant disregard for international law and humanitarian standards.
“Despite the ceasefire, the occupation persists in systematic attacks on civilians, residential areas, and essential infrastructure,” he said.
Since the ceasefire began on October 10, 2025, recorded violations include 366 incidents of gunfire on civilians and neighborhoods, 61 incursions into residential areas, 507 bombardments of homes, vehicles, and civilian gatherings, and 182 home demolitions, often occurring almost daily.
These attacks have also left 1,184 people injured and 45 Gazans detained.
Thawabta noted that the Israeli occupation treats the ceasefire as a symbolic gesture rather than a binding obligation, using it as a cover to continue its attacks and assert control on the ground.
The so-called “yellow line”, areas vacated by Israeli forces under the ceasefire, is being steadily expanded through bombardment, demolitions, and incursions, creating new buffer zones that displace residents and restrict freedom of movement, actions he described as illegal collective punishment.
On humanitarian access, the Israeli occupation has allowed only 21,668 of the 51,000 agreed aid trucks (42%) into Gaza, and just 487 of 4,250 fuel deliveries (11.6%), deepening the humanitarian crisis and using aid as leverage, Thawabta said.
He called the ongoing violations a “flagrant breach of the ceasefire and a serious violation of international humanitarian law,” urging the international community, the UN, and mediators to act immediately to stop violations, prevent buffer zone expansion, ensure unrestricted humanitarian aid, and hold the Israeli occupation accountable.
Since October 7, 2023, the Gaza conflict, backed by U.S. and European support, has caused mass casualties, starvation, destruction, forced displacement, and detention, leaving over 239,000 dead or injured, including countless women and children, alongside tens of thousands missing and hundreds of thousands displaced.
