An Israeli missile attack overnight near Damascus killed four Syrian soldiers and injured four others, according to Syria’s state media.
“At about 2:20 in the morning today, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus,” the military source said.
The strike also caused some material damage, as reported by Sana news agency, quoting a military source. The source claimed that some of the Israeli missiles were intercepted.
AFP news agency reported hearing explosions in Damascus, and social media videos showed bright flashes in the sky in the area.
Israel has not issued any statements regarding the incident, but it has a history of targeting military sites in Syria.
