In the early hours of Wednesday morning, May 31, 2023, colonial Israeli settlers vandalized several Palestinian vehicles on a bridge in the village of Zubda, and they blocked the road linking the towns of Ya’bad and Bartaa. Meanwhile, Israeli forces stormed villages in the southern Jenin region.
According to local sources, a group of settlers, protected by Israeli occupation forces, attacked vehicles on the bridge in Zubda, located in the southern Jenin area. They closed the main road connecting Jenin to Tulkarm and the town of Ya’bad, engaging in acts of violence. They shattered the windows of several cars, but no injuries were reported among the Palestinian citizens.
Since the early hours of the morning, Israeli forces stationed at the Dotan checkpoint in Ya’bad have been obstructing the movement of Palestinians, conducting vehicle searches, and checking the identities of Palestinians. It is worth noting that the checkpoint was closed yesterday and reopened early this morning.
In a related context, Israeli forces invaded the villages of Tura, Um Dar, and Nuzha Zaid in the Ya’bad area, launching a wide-scale search and inspection campaign. They have intensified their military presence in the southwest of Jenin.
