Israeli settlers prevented on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, Palestinian shepherds from accessing grazing lands near their homes in the Khallet Makhol area of the northern Jordan Valley.
Local sources reported that a group of settlers from the “Hamdat” settlement hindered Palestinian citizen Yusuf Bisharat from approaching the pastures surrounding his tents.
The Jordan Valley has been the subject of relentless and systematic attacks since its occupation in 1967, perpetrated by both Israeli occupation forces and settlers.
They have established over 21 settlements and outposts across the Palestinian Jordan Valley.
The Palestinian Jordan Valley, constituting nearly 25% of the West Bank’s total area, has become a focal point for the ambitions of the Israeli occupation.
Settlement expansion and ethnic cleansing operations have been accelerating at the expense of Bedouin communities and humble farmers in the area.
