A 19-year-old Palestinian, identified as Dargham Mohammad Yahya Al-Akhras, succumbed on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, to critical head injuries sustained from Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire in the Aqabat Jabr camp near Jericho.
Israeli special forces had stormed the Aqabat Jabr camp to carry out arrests, triggering clashes with Palestinians.
These clashes resulted in at least one person being shot with live ammunition and several others suffering from tear gas inhalation.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that a young man, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head during the Israeli forces’ incursion into the camp, was rushed to Jericho Hospital in a critical condition.
Sadly, medical personnel later confirmed his demise due to the severity of his injuries.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces deployed additional reinforcements to the camp, conducting widespread raids and incursions into numerous homes.
These incursions involved thorough searches and tampering with the contents of the residences, along with subjecting the Palestinians to on-site interrogations.
During their incursion into the camp, Israeli forces arrested two individuals, Yasin Marwan Hamdan and his uncle, Mohammad Hamdan, from their homes.
Israeli occupation forces had carried out a series of raids and incursions in the occupied West Bank overnight and into the early hours of Wednesday, marked by confrontations in some areas and multiple arrests of Palestinian civilians.
