The Israeli occupation on Tuesday evening kidnaped the two fishermen, Ameen and Mahmoud Hassouna, who were fishing in the south of the Gaza Strip, according to local sources.
The Israeli occupation uses many practices to make the lives of fishermen in Gaza difficult. While those fishermen go every morning to search for their daily commodity i.e. fish and seafood to sell, the Israeli shells keep chasing them.
The Israeli occupation tries to destroy the fishing sector in Gaza by limiting the fishing zone leaving fishermen only tiny fish and a limited variety, shooting and arresting fishermen, and preventing the entrance of material and equipment needed for fishing.
Only last July, the Israeli occupation reduced the fishing area from 12 miles to 6 miles in the Gaza Strip while in the occupied Palestine, Israelis can fish completely freely and safely.
this is only one side of the systematic discrimination practiced by the occupation government that aims to make the sustenance of an honest day’s pay and maintain their livelihood.
