The Commission of Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs reported on Thursday, September 28, 2023, that Israeli occupation authorities have issued 2,618 administrative detention orders against Palestinians since the beginning of 2023 until the end of last month, September.
In a statement released today, the Commission explained that in the past month of September, Israeli military courts issued 296 administrative detention orders against Palestinians, including 176 new orders and 120 renewal orders.
It also revealed that the number of appeals filed by the Commission against administrative detention decisions, which were considered, reached 42 appeal cases, and the Israeli occupation courts rejected them without providing any legal reasons.
Administrative detention involves arresting individuals without charges or trial, and without allowing the detainees or their lawyers to examine the specific evidence, as Israeli authorities claim that administrative detainees have secret files that cannot be disclosed.
