In a tense escalation of tensions in the occupied West Bank, three Palestinians were injured on Monday by gunfire from the Israeli occupation forces near the city of Jenin. The incident occurred as part of a larger crackdown by the Israeli occupation forces, resulting in the detention of a total of 18 Palestinians, according to reports from the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society and other local sources.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) confirmed that the injured individuals were among a group of four Palestinian youths who were fired upon by Israeli occupation soldiers near Yabad, situated southwest of Jenin. The soldiers proceeded to detain three of the injured youths while the fourth, critically wounded, was urgently transported to a nearby hospital in Jenin.
Similar attacks unfolded in various parts of the occupied West Bank. Reports indicate that in Nablus and its surrounding districts in the north, Israeli occupation forces apprehended four Palestinians, including a pair of siblings. Meanwhile, in the southern region of the West Bank, four Palestinians from Bethlehem and the Aida refugee camp, as well as two from Hebron city and the adjacent Dura area, were taken into custody.
The Israeli occupation reportedly conducted raids in the villages of Beit Rima and Aroura near Ramallah, leading to the detention of four Palestinians, including two sets of siblings. Additionally, in a separate incident, one Palestinian was arrested within the confines of the Old City in the occupied Jerusalem.
