Israeli occupation forces detained 5 Palestinian citizens and injured 2 others in a military incursion into occupied Jenin, today, Tuesday, April 11, 2023, which led to confrontations between Palestinian citizens and the occupation forces.
Local Palestinian sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces besieged the house of the Palestinian Maher Turkman in Jenin, and detained his son Ahmed.
They indicated that Israeli occupation fired live bullets at the Palestinian citizens during confrontations in the Jenin camp which led to the injury of 2 Palestinians at least.
The Israeli occupation accuses Turkman of carrying out a shooting attack on an Israeli military bus carrying Israeli soldiers near the Jordan Valley last December, during which 7 Israeli soldiers were wounded.
Walid Turkman, Maher’s brother, said, “I heard voices near the house at 6:00 am, so I was surprised by the occupation forces in the yard of my brother Maher’s house. They immediately asked me to enter the house and not to leave it.”
Turkman added, “The raid lasted about an hour and a half, searching the house and detaining my nephew Ahmed. They destroyed the contents of the house and tore up the Palestinian martyrs’ pictures.”
