The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) raided the Palestinian Jenin Hospital on Thursday, January 26, deliberately firing live bullets tear gas shells towards the children and emergency ward, leading to the death of a woman and a man in the emergency department besides the suffocation of some children.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said that Israeli occupation forces blocked ambulances from entering the Jenin refugee camp to provide aid to injured Palestinians.
Earlier on Thursday, Israeli forces entered the Jenin refugee camp in a cargo truck, sparking violent clashes shortly afterward.
The Palestinian Health Minister characterized the situation in the refugee camp as “dire,” noting that there are a number of Palestinians who are wounded and have yet to receive treatment from emergency services, which appears to have been blocked by the Israeli occupation forces.
Thursday’s event has now brought the number of Palestinians killed in 2022 up to 25. Last year was the deadliest year since 2004, with around 150 Palestinian fatalities.
