Israel continues to demolish Palestinian houses and replace them with larger settlement projects. Today the house of Jaradat was one of many.
Demolition of Jaradat’s house
The Israeli occupation forces demolished, today Saturday 7th of May, the house of the prisoner Omar Ahmed Jaradat, one of the freedom fighters of the “Homish” settlement operation, which was carried out last December.
150 military vehicles stormed the town of Al-Silat Al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, under the cover of reconnaissance planes, and closed all its entrances, while the occupation turned a number of buildings and houses into military barracks, and deployed snipers on top of them.
The occupation forces stormed the house of the prisoner Jaradat, and began manual demolitions of the internal walls and planting explosives inside, before detonating it at six in the morning.
Violent confrontations erupted between the youths and the occupation forces who fired bullets and tear gas canisters.
Hamas’ Response
A member of the Hamas political bureau, Izzat Al-Rishq, said: The demolition of the homes of the Palestinian people, the last of which was the house of the captive Omar Jaradat, is a perpetuation of Zionist crimes, which will not bring him and his settlers security.
Al-Rishq stressed, in a tweet on “Twitter”, today, Saturday, that “the criminal Israeli policies will not end the confusion and crises of its government and army, and will increase the anger and determination of the Palestinian people to resist and confront them in every inch of our land.”
This morning, the Israeli occupation forces blew up the house of the prisoner Omar Jaradat, while storming the town of Al-Silat Al-Harithiya, northwest of Jenin, in the northern West Bank.
Last month, the Israeli Supreme Court ratified the decision to demolish the house of the prisoner Jaradat; He was allegedly involved in carrying out the shooting attack that took place near the settlement of Homesh between Jenin and Nablus, which resulted in the killing of a settler and the injury of two others.

More Israeli Settlements
The settlement subcommittee of the Supreme Planning Council will hold a meeting next Thursday, with the aim of depositing and approving new settlement plans that include 3,988 housing units in the settlements.
The approval of these large settlement projects comes before an expected visit by US President Joe Biden to “Israel” at the end of next June.
Israel seeks to hold a meeting of the leaders of the “Abraham Accords” countries, in addition to Egypt and Jordan, during Biden’s visit.
According to the Civil Administration’s statement, new settlement plans will be deposited for 1,452 housing units in the following settlements: Nokdim, 32 units; “Ma’ale Adumim” 16 units; “Kdomim” 286 units; Dolev 90 units; “Emmanuel” 170 units; “Mavo Horon” 110 units; Shaarei Tikva 192 units; Elkanah 500 units; And “Nagohot” 56 units.
The statement added that the final approval will be made at the same meeting on 2,536 housing units in the following settlements: Dolev 364 units; “Ma’aleh Makmash” 114 units; “Shivut Rachel” 534 units; “Nerea” 168 units; “Givat Ze’ev” 136 units; “Efrat” 40 units; “Tsofim” 92 units; “Rivava” 64 units; “Tel Menashe” 107 units; “Betar Illit” 761 units; “Kiryat Arba” 156 units.
According to the Israeli public broadcaster, Kan; Israel has held direct talks with the US administration about holding a meeting of the Higher Planning Council for Settlements with the aim of ratifying these settlement projects.
Israel claims that ratification of these settlement projects (or that lack of) will affect the continuation of the government’s mandate and that some of the Knesset members from the Yamina party require their ratification in order to refrain from splitting from the coalition government. The government postponed holding the committee’s meeting until after the end of Ramadan.
The committee meeting is being held following the approval of Defense Minister Benny Gantz, the settlers’ demands to approve new settlement construction projects.
