DaysofPal- The Israeli occupation forces are reportedly continuing to prevent the Gaza Administrative Committee from entering the Gaza Strip and are delaying the reopening of the Rafah border crossing, despite repeated U.S. calls for action.
Yedioth Ahronoth reported Monday evening that the decision to keep the crossing closed was made during a meeting of the Israeli small Security Cabinet on Sunday night, chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to Channel 12, the latest phone call between Netanyahu and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was tense, with Rubio emphasizing that involving Qatar and Turkey in the administrative council is “irreversible.”
Meanwhile, a member of the Palestinian National Committee for Gaza administration, speaking anonymously, told Palestine Online that there is still no scheduled date for the committee’s entry into the Strip due to Israeli obstacles.
Efforts are reportedly underway by mediators to push the United States to pressure Netanyahu to allow the committee to begin its work.
The continued blockade on administrative coordination and restricted access through Rafah complicates reconstruction and humanitarian efforts in Gaza, raising concerns over delays in restoring essential governance and services in the territory.
