Israeli missiles targeted a United Nations school in Gaza, sheltering hundreds of displaced individuals. The strike resulted in at least 17 deaths and 80 injuries, according to the media office. This incident marks the latest in a series of attacks that have inflicted severe civilian casualties within the past 24 hours.
The assault on the UN school is part of a broader wave of Israeli violence. In northern Gaza City, at least 16 Palestinians were killed, while another six lost their lives in southern Rafah. These bombings followed a deadly attack in al-Mawasi the previous day, which has been described as a massacre.
The Israeli occupation claimed that Rafi Salama, the commander of Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade, was among those killed in the al-Mawasi attack, which left at least 90 people dead. However, Hamas has denied these claims, labeling them as “fake news” and asserting that none of its leaders were present during the attack.
The ongoing Israeli war has overwhelmed Gaza, with funerals reportedly occurring every 15 minutes in the aftermath of the strikes. The attack on the “humanitarian” zone in southern Gaza resulted in the deaths of at least 90 people and left 300 others wounded.
Since the war began on October 7, the toll on Gaza has been catastrophic, with 38,443 Palestinians killed and 88,481 wounded.
