Israeli occupation court refused on Friday, February 3, to freeze the decision to evict a Palestinian building in the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood, in Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Palestinian local sources said that the Israeli court issued a decision to evict a Palestinian home owned by the Palestinian man Younis Shehada.
It added that the building, threatened with demolition, is located in the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood in the Jerusalem town of Silwan.
35 Palestinians are living in five apartments in the building. They are all threatened with displacement.
Israeli settlers’ organization Ateren has been working to evict Palestinians from the neighborhood in favor of the settlement expansion.
The settlers’ organization claims that a Jewish family owned the Shehadeh family’s house before 1948.
Earlier in November 2022, the Israeli occupation court rejected the Shehada family’s petition against the decision to evict them from their homes.
