DaysofPal – Gaza is facing an unprecedented escalation as the Israeli occupation army pushes deeper into several neighborhoods of Gaza City while continuing widespread bombardment across the besieged Strip.
The military has been operating on three axes in Gaza City: from the northwest near al-Nasr Street and al-Shati refugee camp, from the south where residential buildings have been leveled, and from the northeast where a significant advance was recorded along al-Jalaa Street.
Israeli military vehicles blocked important routes on Monday by moving from al-Nasr Street into al-Jalaa Street, according to witnesses, before occupying the central al-Zaharna Junction.
This junction is a vital artery connecting the north and south of Gaza City, heavily relied upon by civilians, ambulances, and supply routes. Despite massive destruction inflicted during the ongoing war, its loss represents a critical setback for civilian movement and access to aid.
Civil defense teams reported being unable to reach many trapped under the rubble as artillery and air strikes pounded residential areas.
At the same time, Israeli attacks killed at least 11 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Tuesday. In Deir al-Balah, a mother and her six children from the al-Baz family were killed when their home was shelled. In the Nuseirat refugee camp, the home of the Arandas family was struck, injuring several people. Israeli artillery also targeted the al-Qarnawi family home in al-Bureij camp.
In the south, three Palestinians, a father, his pregnant wife, and their child, were killed when Israeli shelling struck a tent sheltering displaced persons near al-Attar station in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis.
Intermittent shelling also hit the al-Katiba area in central Khan Yunis. Meanwhile, Israeli fire on the al-Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City killed another Palestinian and wounded others.
