Israeli occupation forces fatally shot dead on Tuesday a Palestinian young man for allegedly carrying out a shooting incident against colonial Israeli settlers near Jericho, according to media reports.
Israeli media reported that the Palestinian youth, identified as Mohammed Zbeidat, was immediately gunned down in an exchange of gunfire with the Israeli occupation soldiers near a settler-based area in al-Zbeidat town, northern Jericho.
At least one Israeli settler was moderately injured, accordingly.
Palestinian media said that this incident comes in retaliation to the ongoing Israeli atrocities and settlers’ rampages against the Palestinian people in different cities and villages of the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Israeli occupation forces storm Palestinian cities and towns of the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, on a daily basis, detaining, killing, and injuring citizens there.
According to the Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission CWRC, Israeli occupation forces and settlers committed, in July 2023, approximately 897 attacks against the Palestinian people, their properties, and their holy sites.
