DaysofPal- A Palestinian rights group stated that Israeli forces continue lethal operations in the Gaza Strip months after a ceasefire took effect, killing nearly five Palestinians on average each day since the truce began in October 2025.
The Gaza Center for Human Rights said in a statement issued Sunday that Israeli crimes over the past 134 days constitute persistent violations of the agreement.
The group alleged a pattern of deliberate shootings, air and artillery strikes, home demolitions, and restrictions on humanitarian aid and fuel deliveries.
According to the organization, its field teams recorded an average of 13 to 14 violations per day during the period, arguing that the scale and regularity of incidents undermine the ceasefire and effectively render it meaningless.
Among the cases highlighted was the reported killing of a 27-year-old woman who was allegedly shot by Israeli forces near a public square in Beit Lahia on Sunday morning in a direct fire targeting civilians.
In another incident cited, a 29-year-old man was reportedly killed on Saturday when a drone allegedly dropped an explosive device as he inspected his home in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, and he died from shrapnel injuries, according to the statement.
The organization said such episodes are part of a broader pattern of military activity across the territory, including shelling, aerial bombardment, gunfire, and demolitions.
It said these Israeli crimes reflect continued Israeli control by force over significant areas, despite agreed withdrawal lines under the truce.
Data released by the group indicates that 642 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, including 197 children, 85 women, and 22 elderly individuals. The reported number of injured stands at 1,643, with women and children accounting for more than half of the casualties.
The center argued that the figures point to repeated harm against civilians protected under international humanitarian law, calling the alleged violations serious breaches of the Geneva Conventions that could warrant international criminal investigations.
It also noted that the Israeli occupation is failing to meet humanitarian obligations outlined in the agreement, including permitting the daily entry of 600 aid trucks — 50 designated for fuel. The group said less than half of the agreed aid volume has entered Gaza, while fuel deliveries have fallen significantly short, exacerbating disruptions to essential services and reconstruction efforts.
Restrictions on movement have also persisted, the organization said, noting that crossings, particularly at Rafah, have operated at reduced capacity, limiting the number of approved travelers below agreed levels.
The rights group further added that the cumulative impact of ongoing killings, infrastructure destruction, and limited access to basic necessities amounts to acts of genocide, even in the absence of full-scale hostilities.
It warned that a lack of decisive international action risks reinforcing impunity and weakening prospects for accountability.
The organization called on the international community and parties guaranteeing the ceasefire to intervene urgently, ensure compliance with humanitarian law, and initiate independent investigations into the alleged violations.
“Without accountability, violations will continue,” the statement said, adding that meaningful civilian protection depends on enforcing the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
