DaysofPal- Israeli occupation forces committed two horrible massacres in Gaza on Saturday, targeting a bakery and a residential apartment block, which left hundreds of casualties among civilians, which comes as part of a systematic campaign against civilians.
In one of the deadliest incidents, warplanes bombed a local bakery on Al-Nasr Street in central Gaza City, killing and wounding scores of people, the majority of them children.
Eyewitnesses said the bakery was struck while residents queued for bread, one of the few remaining food staples amid severe shortages.
Medical teams reported scenes of chaos as victims, including entire families, were rushed to overcrowded hospitals, where the primary toll of the victims is 12 civilians killed, including 6 children, and over 50 others injured.
“People were only trying to get bread for their children,” said one resident, adding: “Instead, they were massacred.”
Observers warn that the Israeli attack forms part of a broader Israeli strategy aimed at dismantling Gaza’s last lifelines of survival through the destruction of bakeries, water wells, and hospitals, in an attempt to force mass displacement under relentless bombardment.
Only a few hospitals remain functional, but they are overwhelmed, lacking medicine and equipment to cope with the growing toll.
Humanitarian workers fear further strikes on vital food and medical infrastructure could push Gaza into total collapse.
Shortly after the bakery attack, Israeli warplanes bombed a multi-story apartment building in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza City, leaving dozens of civilians dead and injured.
Local medics confirmed that entire families were inside the building when it was hit, where many remain trapped beneath the rubble, as civil defense crews struggle to reach them under continuous fire.
Witnesses described scenes of horror, with ambulances ferrying bloodied children and women to emergency wards.
“This is a massacre in slow motion,” said a paramedic, noting that hospitals are operating far beyond capacity.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the Israeli occupation is pursuing a policy of collective punishment and forced displacement, warning that the destruction of residential blocks and civilian infrastructure amounts to war crimes.
Meanwhile, famine is rapidly tightening its grip on the territory. Humanitarian organizations report that hundreds of thousands of children face acute malnutrition, while families struggle to secure even a single meal under the blockade and the Israeli prevention of aid.
Moreover, shortages of baby formula, clean water, and basic supplies are worsening by the day.
With bakeries bombed, hospitals collapsing, and entire neighborhoods flattened, humanitarian agencies warn that Gaza is being stripped of its ability to sustain life.
Calls for urgent international intervention are growing louder as residents endure what rights groups describe as “an engineered humanitarian catastrophe.”
