DaysofPal- Israeli occupation forces continued violating the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip on Monday through shelling, gunfire, and the ongoing blockade imposed on the territory.
Local sources reported that five Palestinians, including a mother and her child, were injured after Israeli artillery targeted the Tal al-Dhahab area in the town of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.
Earlier, local sources said a child was wounded by Israeli gunfire in Beit Lahia. A young man was also injured after being shot by Israeli forces near the al-Samer junction in Gaza City.
According to local reports, Israeli tanks opened heavy fire on Monday morning toward several areas east of the Gaza Strip. Israeli military vehicles also fired toward eastern Gaza City, while intense tank fire targeted eastern areas of Khan Younis in the southern part of the enclave.
Israeli artillery additionally shelled areas east of Khan Younis.
Beyond the shelling, naval forces targeted Palestinian livelihoods, arresting three brothers, all fishermen, while they were working in the waters off Gaza City.
Israeli occupation forces have continued breaching the ceasefire agreement in Gaza through air and artillery strikes targeting areas sheltering displaced civilians, in addition to demolition and destruction operations inside the “Yellow Line.” Restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid, and travel also remain in place.
Since the ceasefire started on October 10 of last year, 854 Palestinians have been killed and 2,453 more have been injured, according to data released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Authorities have also recorded 770 recovered bodies during the same period.
The ministry added that the overall toll from the Israeli genocidal campaign on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has reached approximately 72,740 killed and 172,555 injured, underscoring the heavy human cost of the continuing war on the territory.
