DaysofPal- Israeli forces launched a massive raid in Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem, early Monday, unleashing a sweeping operation of intimidation and control.
Israeli occupation forces spread throughout the town, occupying the rooftops of high-rise buildings and deploying snipers, while shutting down main and secondary roads, effectively bringing daily life and education to a standstill.
According to local sources, the attacks began from multiple directions, with military vehicles supporting the advancing troops.
Streets and residential neighborhoods were flooded with soldiers, who transformed building rooftops into strategic observation points to monitor civilian movement.
Eyewitnesses described a tense and intimidating scene, as snipers took positions on rooftops amid the use of sound grenades and provocative maneuvers—echoing previous raids known for human rights violations against civilians.
Meanwhile, road closures prevented students and teachers from reaching schools, halting the educational process and leaving residents stranded in their homes.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces also entered Al-Matar Street near Qalandiya Camp, demolishing commercial properties under the pretext of unlicensed construction, a move seen as part of a broader campaign to restrict livelihoods.
In addition, bulldozers demolished a car wash on in the same street, with heavy military presence enforcing strict restrictions on movement. Israeli troops also seized the rooftop of another building, converting it into a military post, while continuing the raid on the camp and surrounding areas.
The escalation did not stop there: schools near Qalandiya Camp were forced to evacuate students, and returning home became nearly impossible due to the ongoing military presence and road closures. Later, Israeli forces evacuated the Popular Committee headquarters in the camp and stationed themselves inside, sending reinforcements toward Qalandiya Airport—a sign of potential further escalation.
This latest attack highlights Israel’s persistent policy of controlling towns and neighborhoods in occupied Jerusalem, marked by daily raids, repeated closures, and the militarization of residential areas, leaving civilians trapped in a state of fear and instability.
