DaysofPal- Israeli occupation forces escalated their military operations across the Gaza Strip on Friday, launching a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling that left at least 40 Palestinians dead and scores injured, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
Among the dead are aid workers, women, and children, as Israel’s ongoing military campaign continues to exact a heavy toll on the civilian population. The Gaza Government Media Office described the situation as catastrophic, reporting multiple massacres committed by Israeli forces in both the northern and central regions of the besieged enclave.
Massacre in Jabalia al-Balad
One of the deadliest attacks took place in Jabalia al-Balad in northern Gaza, where an Israeli airstrike leveled a multi-story residential building belonging to the Dardouna family. The media office confirmed that more than 50 people were killed or remain missing under the rubble.
Civil defense teams, operating under severe shortages of equipment and fuel, are still attempting to recover bodies and rescue those trapped.
The area has been the scene of continuous bombardment for days, with residents and local officials describing the situation as dire. “We are working with minimal resources; there is not enough fuel, no proper machinery, and barely any medical supplies,” said a civil defense worker in Jabalia.
In central Gaza, six aid workers were killed in what officials labeled another deliberate attack by Israeli forces. The victims were reportedly engaged in humanitarian operations in Deir al-Balah when their convoy was hit.
In Gaza City, a raid targeted a residential apartment at the Abdel-Al junction on Al-Jalaa Street. Four Palestinians, including two children, were killed in the strike.
Emergency teams transferred the victims to Al-Shifa Hospital, where overwhelmed medical staff continue to treat an influx of casualties under increasingly difficult conditions.
Israeli artillery also struck several areas in the south. In Rafah, shelling targeted the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, while in Khan Younis, both eastern and northern sectors came under intense artillery fire.
Local sources reported additional destruction and civilian casualties, although exact figures remain unclear due to ongoing hostilities and communication challenges.
In northern Gaza, the Israeli Occupation Army reportedly carried out a wave of demolitions, razing several buildings. These demolitions come as part of a broader campaign that has devastated much of Gaza’s infrastructure.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, the death toll from Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023, has reached a staggering 53,762, with 122,197 reported injuries. Since the resumption of hostilities on March 18 alone, 3,613 Palestinians have been killed and 10,156 wounded.
