DaysofPal- Israeli naval forces arrested three Palestinian fishermen off the coast of Gaza on Tuesday, in a new violation of the ceasefire agreement in the war-torn enclave.
According to Zakaria Bakr, head of Gaza’s Fishermen’s Committees, the Israeli navy opened fire at a Palestinian fishing boat off the coast of Gaza City before detaining Abdullah al-Absi, Mohammad Miqdad, and Bakr Abu Abda.
Local sources reported that Israeli warships also fired shells toward the shores of Gaza City earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, in the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian man was injured by gunfire from an Israeli drone in the town of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younis.
Israeli tanks stationed east of the city also fired multiple rounds at several locations throughout the morning, while military vehicles opened fire east of Gaza City.
The latest incidents come despite the ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10 as part of a U.S.-brokered plan led by President Donald Trump.
The deal includes a gradual Israeli military withdrawal, a prisoner exchange, and the immediate entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza following two years of genocidal war, according to rights groups and international observers.
However, according to a statement from Gaza’s Government Media Office issued on Sunday, Israeli forces have violated the ceasefire around 80 times since it came into effect, resulting in the deaths of 97 Palestinians, including 44 killed in a single day last Sunday.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has waged a devastating genocidal war against Gaza marked by mass killings, starvation, destruction, forced displacement, and arrests, in defiance of international appeals and rulings by the International Court of Justice.
The two-year genocide has left more than 238,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, the majority women and children, with over 11,000 missing and hundreds of thousands displaced amid a famine that has claimed countless lives, mostly among children.
Large parts of Gaza have been destroyed, leaving much of the territory wiped off the map.
