An Israeli occupation court has extended on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the administrative detention order against Palestinian prisoner Mustafa Hussein Bani Odeh from the town of Tamoun, south of Tubas in the northern occupied West Bank, for the third consecutive time, adding another four months to his detention period.
According to the Prisoners’ Media Office, Israeli forces arrested Bani Odeh on May 30, 2022, after raiding his home in Tamoun. He was then transferred to the “Jalamah” interrogation center. After a week, the military court in “Salem” issued an administrative detention order against him for a period of six months.
The office clarified that the Israeli intelligence recommended renewing his administrative detention for a second time, for an additional six months, just two days before his initial detention period ended. Today, his detention was renewed for the third time, this time for a period of four months. He is currently held in the Negev desert prison.
Bani Odeh is a former prisoner has been arrested multiple times and has spent over nine years in Israeli jails. He is married and a father of four children. He tragically lost his son Mamoun (18 years old) while he was under current administrative detention. The Israeli occupation denied him the opportunity to bid his son a final farewell in December of last year.
