The Israeli Beersheba District Court held on Sunday, November 13, 2022, a session to consider the Israeli Prison Authority’s request to renew the solitary confinement of the Palestinian child detainee, Ahmed Manasra inside Israeli prisons.
The decision on the request of the Israeli Prison Administration and the Occupation Prosecution to extend the isolation of the detainee Ahmed Manasra was postponed until the date of November 24, 2022, when a session was held today to consider the request to isolate him for another six months in the Beersheba Court.
The Palestinian Prisoner Club said in a brief statement that during the session in the Israeli court, the mother of the child detainee, Ahmed Manasra, managed to hold the finger of her son, whom she had not touched for seven years, for the first time.
The Palestinian Adalah Center issued a statement saying that “Ahmed Manasra spent nearly a year in solitary confinement, despite the serious health and psychological situation he suffers from.
According to doctors, his condition requires urgent medical attention outside the prison, and continuing his isolation will exacerbate his situation significantly”.
Adalah added that “the Israeli Public Prosecution Office announced its intention to submit a request to renew the solitary confinement last Thursday, and that the legal staff has not received any written materials so far.”Adalah’s statement indicated that in the coming days, the Israeli occupation Supreme Court is also expected to issue a decision in leave to appeal the decision to deny Ahmed appearance before the Early Release Committee, which was submitted on October 3, 2022.
It is reported that the Palestinian child detainee Ahmed has been detained when he was 14 years old, and he has been facing solitary confinement for more than a year. Despite his serious health and psychological conditions, the Israeli occupation continues isolating and punishing him and not transferring him to hospital to get needed medical treatment.
