DayofPal—An Israeli delegation will visit several countries, including the US, to investigate methods for executing Palestinian prisoners.
Israel’s Channel 14 reported that Israeli lawmakers are advancing a bill mandating swift executions, primarily by lethal injection, with no appeals.
The delegation, led by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and accompanied by Israel Prison Service officials, is expected to visit several countries that still enforce capital punishment, including the United States.
According to the broadcaster, the delegation aims to review various execution methods, such as lethal injection and the electric chair, and assess how these procedures are regulated and implemented.
The findings would help guide Israel’s plans should the it adopt a similar policy.
The move comes as the Knesset Security Committee advances legislation enabling the execution of Palestinian prisoners convicted of killing Jews on the basis of their identity. The law won’t be applied on Israelis or Jews killing Palestinians.
A principles document submitted by committee chair Zvika Vogel of the Otzma Yehudit party calls for executions to occur within 90 days of sentencing and eliminates the right to appeal.
Haaretz reported that the proposal envisions lethal injection as the standard method for carrying out the sentence.
Prisoners’ Club said that over 350 Palestinians were handed life sentences and being incarcerated in dire conditions as of October 2025.
