DayofPal– A new Israeli plan is being prepared in a bid for building four colonial Israeli settlements on the occupied West Bank’s lands during Donald Trump’s prisednacy period, which will start in January 2025, according to Israel Hayom newspaper.
This plan, being prepared by a far-right official and settlers’ organizations, calls for a substitution of the Palestinian Authority with another pro-Isreal Arab one in order to impose complete control on the occupied West Bank.
According to the newspaper, this plan allows to have the maximum territory of the West Bank in favour of Israeli settlers with the lowest number of the Palestinian population.
In addition, it seeks to establish new Israeli cities within the West Bank by turning large settlements into Talmudic cities, developing settlers’ infrastructure, and turning West Bank into an industrial and commercial hub.
Earlier this month, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called on Netanyahu’s government to take Trump’s rule as an opportunity to size the entire West Bank.
During Trump’s first term, settlers had seen an expansion of their housing in the West Bank. His administration also took unprecedented steps to support Israel’s territorial claims, including recognizing Jerusalem as its capital and moving the U.S. Embassy there, and recognizing Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights.
