DaysofPal – On the 158th day since the ceasefire agreement went into effect, Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip have persisted in violating it, with fresh attacks reported in various parts of the enclave.
Local authorities report that 16 Palestinians have been killed and numerous others have been injured in various parts of Gaza as a result of Israeli actions over the last 24 hours.
The Gaza Interior Ministry announced that Iyad Abu Youssef, director of the intervention police in the Central Governorate, was killed along with eight police officers after an Israeli airstrike targeted a police vehicle on Salah al-Din Road near the entrance to Al-Zawayda.
The ministry identified the officers killed in the strike as Abdulrahman Munir Al-Amassi, Rami Ibrahim Harb, Youssef Mohammed Mustafa, Abdullah Hossam Badwan, Wissam Akram Al-Hafi, Fathi Raafat Oweida, Musab Ziad Al-Durra, and Tawfiq Azmi Al-Khalidi.
Fourteen civilians were also injured in the same attack.
Local authorities say Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted police personnel and security facilities throughout the war in Gaza, a policy they argue aims to weaken public order in the enclave. According to the Gaza Government Media Office, more than 787 members of security and police forces, including those responsible for securing humanitarian aid, have been killed during the war while performing their duties.
Medical sources reported the death of Nael Al-Barawi, a commander in the Al-Qassam Brigades, who succumbed to wounds sustained in an earlier Israeli strike about a week ago.
The Nasser Medical Complex received last night the bodies of three displaced Palestinians and two injured people last night after a damaged wall collapsed onto tents sheltering displaced families in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis. The victims were identified as Intisar Ouda Abu Dan, 65; Tasneem Iyad Barbakh, 19; and Hosni Raafat Hosni Abu Taha, five years old.
Israeli aircraft also struck a target south of Khan Younis early Monday. Israeli forces opened fire toward the eastern areas of Gaza City, according to local reports.
The ceasefire agreement that took effect on October 10 has been repeatedly violated. Data from the Gaza Health Ministry previously indicated that such violations had already killed 663 Palestinians and injured 1,762 others.
Israel, backed by the United States, has been conducting a genocidal campaign in Gaza since October 8, 2023. Palestinian sources report that the war killed more than 72,000 Palestinians and wounded around 172,000, along with widespread destruction affecting roughly 90 percent of the territory’s infrastructure.
