World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés said ‘Israel’ is engaged in “war against humanity itself” after the Israeli drone strike attacked and killed seven of WCK aid workers on 1 April.
Andrés said in an interview this week that the Israeli forces attack on his workers “is not anymore about the seven men and women of World Central Kitchen that perished on this unfortunate event”, believing such attack is happening for way too long, since the war started six months ago.
“This doesn’t seem a war against terror,” Andrés added. “This doesn’t seem anymore a war about defending ‘Israel’. This really, at this point, seems it’s a war against humanity itself,” he concluded.
Israeli military said that Israeli officials had failed to update commanders on the convoy and that they were“ convinced that they were targeting armed Hamas operatives and not WCK employees.”
However, Andrés refuted those claims, saying, “Every time something happens, we cannot just be bringing Hamas into the equation.”
Last week, Israeli airstrike targeted a convoy belonging to the World Central Kitchen, including three vehicles, claiming the lives of all workers inside.
Upon condemning the crime, several world countries demanded ‘Israel’ take “appropriate action” over its military’s deadly attack.
