DaysofPal- Gaza officials have accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement and its humanitarian protocol by blocking the entry of 135,000 mobile homes, 500 bulldozers, and other essential supplies, thereby blocking humanitarian aid shipments promised under the first phase of the agreement.
Salama Maarouf, head of the Government Media Office in Gaza, stated that Israel’s refusal to allow the entry of mobile homes and heavy equipment is a clear violation of its commitments. He warned that this move represents an “explicit declaration” of the agreement’s failure, emphasizing that the resistance has remained committed to its pledges as long as Israel adheres to the terms of the deal.
Maarouf further asserted that Israel’s actions “reveal to the entire world who is the party obstructing the agreement,” calling on mediators and guarantors to intervene immediately and pressure Israel to uphold its obligations.
Highlighting the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Maarouf stressed that the suffering of residents, caused by what he described as a “war of extermination,” makes any delay or obstruction of aid intolerable. He urged mediators and the international community to “stand up to their responsibilities and respond immediately to the humanitarian priorities in the Gaza Strip.”
“The suffering of 2.4 million people inside the Strip must come to an end,” he stated, calling for increased international pressure on Israel to fulfill its commitments and stop “taking pleasure in the suffering of the Palestinian people.”
According to the terms of the ceasefire, Israel is meant to allow 60,000 mobile homes into Gaza during the first phase. The shelters are currently piled up on the Egyptian side of the border, and Israel is denying them entry. None of them have arrived in Gaza so far.
Since the ceasefire, people have been struggling to remove the debris of demolished homes using only their hands or basic tools, as heavy machinery remains prohibited from entering. Countless bodies remain trapped beneath the wreckage, beyond what human effort alone can clear.
Hundreds of thousands of families remain homeless, with the entry of caravans and tents blocked, leaving them vulnerable to the harsh winter. Many people are forced to rely on contaminated sources or travel great distances in search of clean water due to a severe shortage of drinking water and other necessities.
