Israeli occupation forces IOF quelled several Palestinian marches in the occupied West Bank, injuring dozens of protesters on Friday, March 31, 2023.
According to local sources, the Israeli forces quelled protesters who took part in anti-settlement marches in the occupied West Bank cities of Qalqilia and Nablus in addition to another rally in Jerusalem.
In Nablus, The Israeli forces suppressed the weekly march of Beit Dajan. Seven protesters suffered tear gas inhalation.
Meanwhile, the Israeli forces attacked protesters in Jabal Subaih and Beita with tear gas canisters, assaulting Palestinians and journalists and injuring several.
In a related development, Israeli occupation forces and settlers attacked Huwara, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, which triggered confrontations.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that at least ten Palestinians suffered breathing problems in Huwara as Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters.
In addition, Israeli occupation forces invaded Qaryout village in Nablus and fired tear gas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets at Palestinian homes.
Furthermore, IOF quelled the weekly anti-settlement march of Kafr Qaddum and injured several Palestinians. Local sources said that a Palestinian youth was hit with a rubber bullet in the head.
In Jerusalem, the Israeli forces attacked several Palestinian youths near the Al-Aqsa Mosque’s gates of Al-Maghariba and Al-Silsila.
On Fridays, Palestinians in several parts of the occupied West Bank join in anti-settlement marches to protest against the Israeli settlements’ expansion, which swallowed mass areas of their lands.
The right-wing Israeli new government aims at expanding settlement in the occupied West Bank, which Palestinians reject and protest against. The new government has announced multiple settlement projects since the start of 2023.
