DaysofPal – Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed yet another massacre on Wednesday morning, targeting starving Palestinian civilians who had gathered near an aid distribution site in the Netzarim area, south of Gaza City. The assault killed at least 25 people and injured dozens more.
According to medical sources, Israeli forces opened fire on a crowd of civilians awaiting food aid near the Al-Nabulsi area and along the so-called “Netzarim Corridor” in southwestern Gaza. The attack adds to an increasingly bloody toll of civilians killed while simply trying to survive under siege.
Al-Shifa Hospital received 10 of the victims’ bodies, while Al-Quds Hospital confirmed it had received 6 more and treated at least 95 people for injuries sustained in the attack. Witnesses described chaotic scenes of panic, with people fleeing for their lives after being fired upon while waiting for essential aid.
This massacre follows closely on the heels of Tuesday’s deadly incident, in which 36 civilians were shot and killed—also near the Netzarim Corridor—during a similar attempt to receive humanitarian supplies. Several of those wounded in that attack remain in critical condition.
With these latest atrocities, the death toll from Israeli attacks near so-called “U.S.-Israeli aid distribution centers” has now reached at least 180 Palestinians killed and over 1,500 wounded, according to local health authorities.
The IOF continues its brutal campaign across the Gaza Strip with constant airstrikes and ground bombardments, exacerbating an already catastrophic humanitarian crisis. The siege has brought Gaza to the brink of famine, with civilians forced to risk their lives for a loaf of bread or a bag of flour.
International aid agencies have repeatedly warned that the conditions in Gaza are incompatible with life. Yet, the deliberate targeting of aid seekers has become a grim hallmark of this war—turning supposed humanitarian corridors into death traps.
